WEST POINT, N.Y.  – Senior co-captain led the way in Flight A singles competition on Friday and Saturday. Paul and sophomore Kelly Daniels, in Flight D, remain the only Army players still alive in their respective draws. Paul and Quinnipiac's Alexis Casati, who advanced through a consolation bracket, return to the court on Sunday morning in their respective semifinal matches of the West Point Invitational at Malek Courts.

Paul upset ninth-seeded Altan Sarnai of Stony Brook in the second round of 16 via sets (6-2, 2-6, 10-7). The Bulverde, Texas native then met Quinnipiac’s Jackie Raynor in Saturday’s quarterfinal match. Paul outlasted Raynor (6-1, 4-6, 10-6) in a hard fought, three-set victory. She now faces Illinois Alexis Casati in Sunday’s quarterfinal round, set to begin at 9 a.m.

Daniels also found success in Flight D singles main draw after picking up a win on day 1 against Lisa Ventimiglia. Daniels would then move on to defeat Quinnipiac’s Kelsi Oliphant (6-3, 6-4) in the next round on Saturday. Daniels would follow up with a victory (7-5, 6-3) against Long Island’s Isabella Wagener in the quarterfinals. She will play against Seton Hall’s Anna Guryanova on Sunday for a chance to compete in the final round.

In doubles action sister team Elle and Della Taylor advanced to the Flight A championship round after defeating Quinnipiac’s tandem of Rachel Horton and Sydney Young (8-4) on Saturday. The duo will go up against Quinnipiac’s twosome of Sophie Dzulynsky and Jackie Raynor on Sunday for the championship title.
