WEST POINT, N.Y. - After watching its nine-match unbeaten streak come to an end at Cornell on Wednesday afternoon, the Army women's tennis team will look to get back on the winning track with a pair of matches on Friday, March 28. The Black Knights will split their team to host Manhattan at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center and play at Lehigh in a Patriot League contest. Both matches are slated for 2 p.m.

Army (16-2, 3-0 PL) dropped just its second match of the season on Wednesday, falling to Cornell by a 6-1 margin. Freshman Allyson Hayley notched the only singles win for the Black Knights in the outing, as she collected a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 decision at the No. 6 singles spot.

In doubles competition, senior Jamila Paul and sophomore Carolyn Pitman teamed up for an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 position, but the Big Red collected the doubles point after posting wins in the first and third matches, respectively.

Manhattan (5-3) is coming off a 7-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win over St. Peter's on March 23. The Jaspers notched wins in all six singles matches, including junior Caitlin Bricketto and freshman Gabriella Leon, who each won in straight sets. Manhattan also collected victories in two of its three doubles matches to take the doubles point.

Lehigh (4-7, 0-0 PL) will open its Patriot League slate against Army on Friday, hosting the Black Knights at Lewis Tennis Center in Bethlehem, Pa. The Mountain Hawks most recently fell to Delaware, 4-3, on March 26.

Lehigh earned wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches, with the tandems of Jenai Bilimoria/Abby Farrell and Cassidy Cruz/Taylor Hampshire posting 8-2 and 8-4 victories, respectively. Leading 1-0 after doubles, the Mountain Hawks managed only two wins in singles action, with Cruz and sophomore Ali Kaminetsky winning at the third and sixth positions, respectively.

Army is 7-0 all-time versus Manhattan, while holding a 25-2 advantage in its series with Lehigh.

After Friday, the Black Knights return to the court on Saturday, April 5, when they are on the road to face Navy in the annual "Star" Match. The Patriot League match will get underway at 10 a.m.
