BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Jacee Almond's two-out RBI triple in the top of the seventh snapped a 2-2 tie as No. 3 Bucknell rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat No. 4 Army, 3-2, in an elimination game at the Patriot League Tournament Friday afternoon at Kaufman Field.

Army closes out the season 23-28 following its second loss of the day at the double-elimination tournament after defeating top-seeded Lehigh 5-1 in Friday's opener. The Black Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a run-scoring single by April Ortenzo and sacrifice fly by Kasey McCravey.

Amanda Nguyenbeat out an infield single, stole second and moved to third on Alee Rasenskas' bunt. Ortenzo followed with the third straight hit of the inning driving in Nguyen with a single to left center field. Rashenskas, who stole second and moved to third on Ortenzo's hit, crossed on McCravey's sacrifice fly to center field.

Freshman hurler Caroline Smith(13-13) did not give up a hit over the first three innings then denied Bucknell after yielding a pair of hits in the fourth inning on a play at home plate and caught stealing attempt.

Bucknell tied the score 2-2 in the top of the fifth with a pair of unearned runs. Almond ripped a sacrifice fly and Mallory Lyon's RBI single tied the game.

Army stranded runners at second and first in the bottom of the sixth with two outs. Relief pitch Cindy Cherness (5-3), who would pick up the win, got out of the frame with a strikeout.

After Bucknell took the one-run lead in the top of the seventh, Cherness retired the side in the bottom of the inning.

In the go-ahead seventh, Smith struck out the first batter looking followed by an infield hit and a strikeout. Almond took a 1-1 pitch and smacked a triple deep to left field to deliver Amanda Fazio for the go-ahead run with her second RBI of the game, but was stranded when Smith struck out the next batter for the third out of the game. The hit was Almond's lone of the game

Army collected seven hits with Rashenskas going 2-for-3 and scored a run.

Ortenzo and Rashenskas batted .400 (4-for-10) at the tournament. Rashenskas had two RBI and a run scored and Ortenzo had an RBI. McCravey and Savanna Aversa each batted .333.

McCravey closed out the season as Army's batting leader with a .388 average along 44 RBI, seven home runs and 92 total bases. She tied with Ortenzo for the team lead in doubles as both had 10.

Nguyen led Army with 62 hits, 36 runs scored and 29 stolen bases.
