In last weekend's league openers, Navy, Colgate, Holy Cross and Lafayette were winners with Army, Bucknell, American and Lehigh suffering defeats. Three of the games were 1-0 decisions with preseason favorite Colgate scoring multiple goals posting a 4-1 decision over Bucknell

Army outshot host Holy Cross in its league opener last week, but the Crusaders capitalized on their first shot on goal and the league's top goalkeeper, Carly McCabe made that stand in a 1-0 decision.

The loss was Army's third in the last four outings as the Black Knights (5-7-0, 0-1-0 PL) closed out the month of September 3-4-0. Army will look to get back on the winning track this weekend in order to stay a contender for the Patriot League Tournament which is just over a month away.

Junior forwards Kim An and Joey Molacek lead the Black Knights with four goals and two assists each for 10 points with An the leader in game winners with three. Freshman Anna Lail has a pair of goals to tie with junior Ruthie Rosenberger (goal, two assists) for third in scoring with four points.

In goal, freshman Jessica McCallister has drawn starting duty the last two games to show 2.00 goals-against average. Sophomore Linda Rosas has drawn the majority of duty as a starter in nine games, and has compiled a 1.41 GAA along with a pair of shutouts.

Colgate, the league's defending regular-season champion, is 6-4-2 overall and 1-0-0 in the league. Jillian Kinter, the league's preseason Offensive Player of the Year, has not disappointed. She leads the league in shots (43) and points (23) and ranks among the leaders in goals (eight) and assists (seven). She extended her point streak to nine straight games with three assists in last week's league debut win over Bucknell.

Kinter and teammate Catherine Williams are tied for third place in the conference in goals with eight each. In goal, Ashley Walsh ranks second in the league in saves (62) and shows a 1.82 GAA.

Army upset top-seeded Colgate, 2-0, in last year's Patriot League's Tournament semifinal round at Van Doren Field, and went on to capture the title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Molacek, the tournament MVP, scored both goals as Colgate fell to the Black Knights in the tournament's opening round for the second straight year. Army and Colgate battled to a 1-1 overtime draw during last fall's regular-season match at West Point.

Though the Raiders dominate the all-time series (22-10-5), the Black Knights are unbeaten in the last four games (2-0-2). Colgate's last win over Army was a 2-1 decision at West Point in 2009 and at Van Doren Field was 3-0 in 2006.

Bucknell (7-6-0, 0-1-0 PL) is coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 4 Penn State earlier in the week where the Bison's lone goal cut Penn State's 2-0 lead in half.

Chelsey Garkowski leads the Bison in scoring with 17 points (seven goals, three assists) to rank fifth in the league. Keeper Sandia McDermott lists second in saves (71) and shows a 1.59 GAA with four shutouts.

Army holds a 15-11-2 lead over Bucknell after pulling out one-goal decisions the last two years.

The Black Knights make their Patriot League home debut against Lehigh on Oct. 14.
