WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army will look to secure its first win over a Big Ten opponent in nearly 35 years when the Black Knights travel to Ohio State on Friday night. Tipoff at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, is slated for 7 p.m.

Army is coming off a 67-57 setback at Penn on Wednesday evening, falling victim to a poor shooting night. The Black Knights shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, while the Quakers made 43.4 percent of their attempts to halt Army’s winning streak at seven games.

Ohio State is Army’s final Division I nonconference opponent of the season, with the final non-Patriot League game set for Dec. 29 against Division III foe Staten Island. At 6-5 overall, the Buckeyes have lost four of their last five but sport the nation’s most difficult schedule. Army enters the game with a 7-2 mark.

The game will be streamed live on Buckeye Vision, Ohio State’s subscription-based service available on www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com. A radio broadcast in Columbus, Ohio will also be available on 1460-AM. Live statistical updates via CBS Sports GameTracker will be available on OSU’s website. After taking a three-point lead with 8:43 to play, Army went without a bucket for over five minutes as Penn pulled away to defeat the Black Knights, 67-57. Sophomore Kelsey Minato extended her double-digit scoring streak to 25 games after pouring in a team-high 20 points for her second consecutive 20-point showing. Army struggled to get into an offensive rhythm on the night, shooting just 33.3 percent despite entering the contest averaging a Patriot League-best 43.8-percent clip. The Black Knights went 0-for-6 during that decisive five-minute span, a period when the Quakers when 3-for-8 and made a pair of free-throws. Army finished the second half shooting 30 percent, its second-lowest output of the season.

Army and Ohio State have met twice previously with Friday’s tilt being the first showdown since the 2008-09 season. The Buckeyes have won both previous contests against the Black Knights by an average margin of 35 points. OSU has faced one Patriot League opponent this season, Lehigh, and won 93-63 for its most recent win (Nov. 27). Army is 2-5 all-time against Big Ten foes, with both wins coming against Indiana in the late 1970s. The Buckeyes are unranked for the first time when facing Army.
