After attempting just 13 field goals in the first half, the Black Knights exploded for 50 points in the second, including 19 from junior tri-captain Olivia Schretzman. The win at SBU was Army’s first road victory of the year after dropping the season opener at St. Francis (N.Y.).

Army went 35-of-49 from the free-throw line on Friday afternoon at Stony Brook to establish a program record for FTM. The 35 freebies snapped a 32-year old record of 34 originally set on Jan. 23, 1982, against Fordham. The 49 attempts from the charity stripe were one shy of the team record. Junior Olivia Schretzman went 13-of-13 from the line to match Kelsey Minato’s single-game record, established at Air Force last season. Army is 3-0 this season when attempting more free-throws than its opponent, and half of all of Schretzman’s scoring has come from the charity stripe.
Army will begin a three-game road stretch as nonconference play begins to wind down. The Black Knights will travel to Yale on Dec. 7. Army defeated the Bulldogs at Christl Arena last season, 53-47. Yale shows a 3-4 record and will host Bryant on Wednesday prior to its showdown with the Black Knights.
