Army Drops New Year's Day Heartbreaker At Yale, 63-62
It was déjà vu for the Army women's basketball team at Yale on Sunday afternoon at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. For the second game in a row, the Black Knights battled back from a double-digit deficit only to fall in the final seconds, 63-62.

In the Black Knights’ 10-point victory over Columbia on Wednesday evening, Army held its opponent to its lowest scoring output of the season with 51 points. Yale, however, will surely provide a more difficult challenge as the Bulldogs are averaging over 70 points per contest, ranking just outside the top 50 in the NCAA’s latest statistical release (11/26). Similarly, the Black Knights have been on a bit of an offensive tear over the past three games, averaging 70 points per game thanks to an over-40 percent shooting clip.

For tickets, visit www.goARMYsports.com or call 1-877-TIX-ARMY. Fans can also stop by the ticket office at its new location at Gate 3 of Michie Stadium during its regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). The Holleder Center ticket office, located just outside Christl Arena, opens for sales one hour prior to home contests.

Army-Yale Series
The Black Knights will look to pick up their third win over an Ivy League opponent this season when they host Yale on Saturday afternoon. Army leads the all-time series, 16-10, which began in the Black Knights’ inaugural season of 1977-78, but Yale stole a one-point victory on its home court last season. Army has not lost back-to-back games to the Bulldogs since the mid-90s, while the Black Knights are an impressive 12-1 on their home court against Yale. Army is coming off a 61-51 win over fellow Ivy League squad Columbia on Wednesday night, and the Black Knights are 9-3 against the Bulldogs when coming off a win.

Last Time Out
Sophomore Olivia Schretzman matched her career highs with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Army to a 61-51 victory over visiting Columbia on Wednesday night at Christl Arena. Schretzman notched her third double-double of the season as Army moved to 6-1 on the season and the Lions dropped to 1-5. Schretzman put the game on her shoulders after her fellow post player Aimee Oertner, Army’s leading scorer and rebounder entering the game, picked up her third and fourth fouls just 18 seconds apart within the first two minutes of the second half as Army clung to a three-point lead. Oertner would finish with four points, six rebounds, well below her averages of 13.2 and 10.7, respectively. For the full box score and recap, click here.

Manhattan is currently 1-4 and Rider is 2-3.
