Army Defeats St. Francis (N.Y.) For Magarity's 400th Win
Sophomore swing guard Jen Hazlett poured in a career-high 20 points as the Army women's basketball team earned head coach Dave Magarity his 400th career victory, 59-43, at St. Francis (N.Y.) on Wednesday night at the Pope Physical Education Center. The Black Knights used a decisive 17-6 run over the first seven minutes of the second half to pull away from the Terriers in the team's first road test of 2011-12.

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army will lift the lid on the home portion of its 2012-13 schedule as St. Francis (N.Y.) comes to West Point on Monday, Nov. 12. Tipoff will be at 7 p.m., at the Black Knights’ recently renovated home court at Christl Arena.

Of Army’s 21 Division I opponents on its 2012-13 schedule, the Black Knights have previously faced 19 of them. Of those 19 repeat foes, St. Francis is the lone opponent who Army has never lost to. In 10 previous contests, the Black Knights have defeated the Terriers on every occasion, averaging a 16.8 margin of victory. Dating back to the 1990-91 season, Army eclipsed the 70-point mark through the first five showdowns with St. Francis, including an 83-point showing in 2001. LAST TIME OUT

Army opened the 2012-13 season with a hard-fought 65-62 win at Wagner on Nov. 9. After shooting just 28.6 percent in the first half and trailing by four at the break, the Black Knights battled back, bumping their second-half shooting percentage to over 48 percent, while getting a 30-point scoring bump from a pair of freshmen in Aimee Oertner (18) and Kelsey Minato (12).
