WEST POINT, N.Y.  – Top-seeded Army will lift the lid on the Patriot League Tournament on Thursday against No. 8 seed Colgate. The Raiders ruined the Black Knights’ chances of winning the regular-season title outright when Colgate upset Army, 60-56, on Feb. 20 in Hamilton, N.Y. The Black Knights have won all three games since to grab a share of the conference crown with Navy, which Army swept in the regular season to capture the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament.

The Black Knights are 3-0 all-time as the conference’s top seed with 2005-06’s NCAA Tournament season being the lone campaign Army finished atop the league standings. The Patriot League’s top seed has a combined 47-6 record all-time in the Patriot League Championship for an .887 winning percentage, advancing to the title game 17 times in the conference’s 22-season history.

The Black Knights and Raiders split the regular-season series for the first time since 2009-10, with each squad winning on their respective home courts. Army is 2-2 against Colgate in Patriot League Tournament contests, most recently meeting during the Black Knights’ 2006 championship run.

Army-Colgate Postseason Series
The Black Knights and Raiders will meet in the Patriot League Tournament for the fifth time and first since Army’s championship run in 2006. The all-time postseason series is tied 2-2, with Colgate having the edge in quarterfinal contests 2-1 and the Black Knights winning in the lone semifinal game (2006). Army is 13-21 all-time in the conference tournament and is in search of its first postseason victory since the 2009 quarterfinals. The Raiders are 12-21 in the conference tourney and is on a six-game losing skid, with their most recent victory coming in the 2007 quarterfinals.

Overall, Army leads the all-time series 33-20. On their home court, the Black Knights are 19-6 against Colgate and have not lost to the Raiders at Christl Arena since Feb, 19, 2002. Army has won the last 12 meetings with Colgate at West Point.

Rewrite The Record Book
The Army women were responsible for rewriting the Patriot League record book as it was announced on Tuesday that the Black Knights swept all four major awards, marking the first time any team had achieved the feat. Head coach Dave Magarity was unanimously voted Patriot League Coach of the Year, senior Anna Simmers tabbed Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Kelsey Minato was voted both Player and Rookie of the Year, marking the first time in conference history that a player earned both honors in the same season. Simmers was a unanimous All-Patriot League first-team selection, while Minato was also placed on the first team. Minato and classmate Aimee Oertner were uncontested All-Rookie Team selections. Two first-team selections are the first in Army history, as are the multiple all-rookie nods.

Up Next
