Hazlett Scores 19 But Loyola Edges Army 53-47
Junior Jen Hazlett made a career-best five three-pointers, including two in the final 90 seconds, but Army women's basketball fell to Loyola (Md.) 53-47 at West Point's Christl Arena on Monday night.

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in conference play when it travels to Loyola for a Patriot League contest on Sunday, Jan. 4. Tipoff at Reitz Arena is set for 1 p.m.

Army improved to 9-3 this season with a 66-49 Patriot League victory over Lafayette on Jan. 2. Senior Jen Hazlett netted a season-high 22 points for the second game in a row, while sophomore Kelsey Minato scored 21 points, bringing her double-digit scoring streak to 28 games. Minato made 14 free-throws against the Leopards to set an Academy record to free-throws made in a single game.

THE ARMY-LOYOLA SERIES
Army is 1-5 all-time versus Loyola. The Black Knights' only win in the series came on Dec. 19, 2010, when they topped the Greyhounds, 60-52, at Christl Arena. The schools last met on Dec. 10, 2012, with Loyola besting Army, 53-47, at West Point. Sunday's match-up will be the first Patriot League meeting between the Black Knights and the Greyhounds.

LAST TIME OUT
Army had its second-best free-throw-shooting game of the season during a 66-49 win over Lafayette on Jan. 2, knocking down 88.9 percent (32-for-36) of its attempts. Hazlett (22 pts) and Minato (21 pts) each reached the 20-point plateau, while Minato set an Academy record with 14 FTM (14-for-15). Freshman Stephanie Geyer scored 8 pts off the bench for the second game in a row, filling in for Army's starting post players after early foul trouble. The Black Knights led by six at halftime before the Leopards pulled to within three early in the second frame. Army scored 33 of the game's final 52 points from that point on, including a 16-of-18 performance on free-throws in the second half.
