WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army women's basketball team will look to build a winning streak when it hosts Lafayette in its Patriot League opener on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Tipoff at Christl Arena is set for 1 p.m.

Army improved to 8-3 this season with a 108-64 victory over Staten Island on Dec. 29. Senior Jen Hazlett recorded season highs in points (22), rebounds (10) and steals (2), while Sophomore Kelsey Minato built her Patriot League-best double-digit scoring streak to 27 games with a 16-point effort against the Dolphins, including an 8-for-8 showing from the free-throw stripe.

THE ARMY-LAFAYETTE SERIES
Army holds a 31-23 edge in a series with Lafayette that dates back to the 1983-84 season. The Black Knights have topped the Leopards in five consecutive contests, with Army collecting a 70-57 win during the last meeting on Feb. 13, 2013. The Black Knights are 19-8 all-time in games at West Point versus Lafayette, including a Patriot League Tournament win in the 2005-06 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Army never trailed in its 108-64 victory over Division III opponent Staten Island on Dec. 29. Six Black Knights scored in double figures, including senior Jen Hazlett, who registered season highs in points (22), rebounds (10) and steals (2). Sophomore Kelsey Minato increased her Patriot League-best double-digit scoring streak to 27 games with a 16-point effort against the Dolphins, including an 8-for-8 showing on free-throws. Juniors Olivia Schretzman (12 points) and Jordan Elliott (11 points), sophomore Aimee Oertner (12 points) and freshman Danielle Failor (11 points) also reached double figures in the game.
