Coach Poling's Take: Had a very good season last spring ... played a lot of tennis this summer ... has a lot of experience to build upon ... increased strength and fitness in the offseason ... expected to be a major contributor this year ... two-time letterwinner.

2004-05: First team All-Patriot League selection ... named Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player ... recorded a pair of singles and doubles wins in the conference tournament ... rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the third set by taking five consecutive points to defeat American's Juan Jaysingh, 3-6, 7-6, 7-5, at No. 1 in the Patriot League Championship match ... copped Army Athletic Association "Athlete of the Week" laurels on Apr. 25 ... posted a 21-15 singles mark ... won five consecutive matches from Feb. 25 to Mar. 15 ... finished the season on a three-match winning streak ... registered wins over opponents from Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth and Penn State ... reached the consolation final of the Flight "A" bracket at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championships ... engineered an 18-15 record in doubles action ... went 7-4 with Carl Fisher at No. 1 ... the duo finished the year winning six of their last seven matches ... the pairing tallied a 4-1 Patriot League record ... went 10-8 with Sebastian Salas including a win over Chris Dong and Trevor Johnson of nationally-ranked Air Force.

2003-04: Named to the All-Patriot League second team ... registered a combined record of 24-10 in singles play, primarily in the No. 3 slot ... put together a string of eight straight victories at one point during the spring ... topped three players from nationally-ranked schools and went 4-0 in Patriot League play ... teamed with fellow plebe Michael Good to form Army's No. 2 doubles tandem and finished the year with a 15-8 combined mark ... Good/Houghton enjoyed wins over opponents from both service academies as well as Nathan Thompson and Jarmaine Jenkins from Clemson, who were ranked No. 17 in the country at the time.

High School: 2003 PIAA State Champion ... won Southern Open championship ... owned USTA National Ranking of 80 and Middle States ranking of No. 4.
