WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior wide receiver Cody Nyp added to his growing list of accolades on Tuesday when the College Sprint Football League named him Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second weekly recognition for Nyp following Friday’s win at Princeton, as he was named Army Athletic Association Player of the Week on Monday.
Nyp, an all-CSFL first-team pick in 2010, led the Black Knights (2-1, 2-0 CSFL) to a 57-13 win in Princeton. The junior recorded seven catches for a career-high 207 yards and five touchdowns. The five scores, four from Javier Sustaita and one from Tim Meier, also list as a career best.
Tuesday’s league recognition was the second of the season for Nyp, after garnering the award last week as well, following a 130-yard, three touchdown performance against CSFL foe Mansfield on Sept. 30.
The Black Knights’ receiving corps has dominated the CSFL offensive weekly awards. Army has earned the honor following each of its three games this season, as sophomore WR Tom Jeffers was recognized following the Sept. 17 game against Navy.
The Black Knights return to action on Friday at Cornell. Army will be looking to avenge its only loss from the 2010 title season. Kickoff at Schoellkopf Field is slated for 7 p.m.
