Army (9-1-1, 4-0-0 PL) is off to its best start since 1975, and is tied for the best Patriot League start in program history. Freshman forward Ethan Spivack leads all Black Knights with three goals, while junior back Sean Mogan has two goals and two assists. Among other offensive contributors are freshmen Christian Ollen and Nick Williams, who each have two goals and an assist.

Junior goalkeeper Winston Boldt leads the nation with nine shutouts, and stands tied with Frank Oprandy '89 and Lucas Rice '93 for first on the program's single season shutouts list. Boldt also ranks second nationally in goals against average (.430) and save percentage (.911). On Monday, Boldt was featured on Major League Soccer's "MLS on Campus" list before drawing his second recognition on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week on Tuesday.

American (4-5-3, 2-1-1) is led up front by freshman forward Joe Iraola (four goals), while classmate Dale Ludwig adds a pair of goals and three assists. Senior goalie Billy Knutsen enters the contest with a .790 goals against average and an .848 save percentage. Knutsen has four shutouts in 12 starts.

American leads its all-time series with Army, 10-2-1. The Black Knights suffered a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Eagles during last season's match at West Point.

After facing American, Army will return to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when it travels to play a Central Connecticut State team ranked eighth in the NSCAA North Atlantic Region for its final non-conference tilt of the season.
