WEST POINT, N.Y. -
Coming off a 2-0 Patriot League win over Bucknell on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Army men's soccer team returns home for its conference home opener against Boston University on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m.
The Black Knights enter the game ranked seventh in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region poll.
The match will be video streamed live on Knight Vision, the Black Knights' subscription-based multimedia platform available through Army's official website (www.goARMYsports.com). Live stats will also be available through GameTracker and in-game Twitter updates will be offered via the men's soccer team's official handle (@Army_MSoccer).
Army (6-1-1, 1-0-0 PL) is paced offensively by freshmen forwards Ethan Spivack (three goals) and Nick Williams (two goals). Eight other players have scored once for the Black Knights, including junior back Sean Mogan (one goal, two assists). Junior goalkeeper Winston Boldt ranks in the top 10 nationally in goals against average (.360) and save percentage (.919). Boldt's seven shutouts on the year are the most by a Black Knight keeper since Jeremy Pamplin had seven clean sheets in 1996.
Boston University (3-5-1, 0-1-0) dropped a 1-0 decision at Navy in its first-ever Patriot League contest last weekend. The Terriers have received two goals each from junior forward Dominique Badji and freshman forward Felix De Bona. Senior midfielder Alex Ciccone has four assists, while redshirt freshman Matt Gilbert has a pair of wins and three shutouts through seven starts.
Boston University holds a 3-1-0 advantage all-time versus Army. The Terriers grabbed a 1-0 win in their last meeting with the Black Knights back in 2001.
Following Saturday's match, Army will host Colgate in a Patriot League tilt on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. The Black Knights dropped a 1-0 decision in overtime to the Raiders in last season's contest.
