WEST POINT, N.Y. -
Six members of the Army men's soccer team were named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Patriot League Teams on Thursday.
Army's first team selections include seniors Winston Boldt and Sean Mogan, junior Cameron Niccum and sophomore Alex Jaroscak. Additionally, junior Justin Kim and sophomore Tanner Vosvick were recognized on the second team.
Boldt, an All-American and Academic All-American goalkeeper in 2013, returns for his senior season after posting an Academy-record 12 shutouts last year. Boldt's 12 clean sheets ranked tied for second in the nation, while he was third nationally in save percentage (.888) and fifth in goals against average (.521).
Mogan returns for his senior campaign after leading the Black Knights in points a season ago. As a junior, Mogan registered 10 points (three goals, four assists), while contributing one game-winning goal. Boldt and Mogan will serve as co-captains for the upcoming 2014 season.
Niccum recorded a goal and an assist last season, while starting in 17 contests. He netted one game-winner and played a key role on defense for an Army team that surrendered just 10 goals all season.
Jaroscak contributed to a strong freshman class in 2013, tallying three goals and three assists, including a pair of game-winning strikes. Both of Jaroscak's game-winning goals came in overtime, as he led Army to come-from-behind victories over American and Boston University.
Kim notched one assist as a sophomore in 2013, while starting in 16 games for the Black Knights. He served as a reliable defensive midfielder for a team that reached the 12-win mark for just the fifth time in program history.
Vosvick led all defenders with four points (two goals, two assists) last season and was the only field player to start in all 18 games. As a freshman, Vosvick drew a number of all-conference accolades to include his selection as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year.
Army begins its 2014 slate on Friday, Aug. 29, when the Black Knights host Fairfield at 7 p.m.
