WEST POINT, N.Y. - Fresh off a career-high six points in a 14-7 win over service-academy rival Navy on Saturday afternoon, sophomore attackman Connor Cookgarnered Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
Cook's six points led all players and came on three goals and three assists. The California, Md., native registered his second career hat trick and started his first Army-Navy game. Cook was one of nine different goal-scorers for Army, putting the exclamation point on a balanced offense that overwhelmed the Mids all afternoon.
Cook scored three goals on six shots, including one tally each in the first, third and fourth quarters. He also assisted on classmate Will Mazzone'sgame-winner with 10:21 remaining in the third frame.
Cook, who also earned Patriot League Honorable Mention accolades this week, has started all 11 games on Army's attack. His 24 points (13G, 11A) are good for third on the team.
The Black Knights' victory, a sixth-straight over Navy, extended the team's current win streak to four games and ascended them to a No. 16 ranking in both national polls on Monday.
