WEST POINT, N.Y. - Following a win and tie against Sacred Heart, a pair of Army hockey players have been honored.
Andy Starczewski was named the Army Athletic Association and Atlantic Hockey Association Travel Team USA Player of the Week while Willie Faust was tabbed the Atlantic Hockey Association Travel Team USA Rookie of the Week.
Starczewski registered his second career hat trick and five points while Faust had a goal and two assists as the Black Knights posted a 5-2 victory and 4-4 tie in a pair of conference games against Sacred Heart.
Starczewski, a senior from Whitesboro, N.Y., had three goals in Friday's 5-2 victory and then handed out an assist on the game-tying goal and scored again during Saturday's 4-4 overtime tie. He has a point in all four Army games this season.
Faust, a freshman from Stillwater, Minn., had an assist on Starczewski's game-winning goal on Friday and then scored on the power play Saturday. He also assisted on a goal Saturday.
Army leads the Atlantic Hockey Association with a 1-0-1 record and is 1-2-1 overall.
The Black Knights will host Penn State Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Tate Rink. Thunderstix will be given away on Friday and the first Skate With The Black Knights will be held following the contest.
