WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Athletic Association and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield Sports’ Army Sports Properties, announced today the details of a five-year radio partnership with Albany, N.Y.-based Pamal Broadcasting. The terms of the pact provide significant gains for fans in the Hudson Valley and Albany areas to listen to the Black Knights.

A key component of the new flagship agreement, which takes effect in time for the 2014-15 athletic season, ensures Army football will be broadcast on a Pamal-owned FM dial in the Hudson Valley and air live in Albany, firsts for those respective markets.  Fans in the Hudson Valley will be able to hear Black Knights’ football on WBPM-FM 92.9, and supporters in Albany can hear all Army football broadcasts on WROW “Magic 590 AM”.  The new relationship boosts the total number of Army Sports Network football radio affiliates nationwide to 21.

In addition to notable advances for Black Knight football fans in select markets, the partnership with Pamal Broadcasting provides expansive reach and coverage for other Army programs.  WBNR 1260 AM (Newburgh) and WLNA 1420 AM (Peekskill) will serve as new flagship stations and air all football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s hockey and select baseball and men’s lacrosse games.  The affiliates also will carry a football head coach Jeff Monken’s weekly show and the Go Army daily report featuring news updates on Army Athletics.

“The Army Sports Network has made tremendous strides in recent years, and we are pleased to provide West Point fans with more robust radio offerings than ever before,” said Army Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan.  “This agreement will provide more on-air opportunities for our teams, expand our coverage into five states and provide a better listening experience across the board.”

“It will be a thrill to cover the Army Black Knights, and we will also be intentional about cross promoting the Army brand and Army Athletics throughout our cluster of stations in the regions most important to the Black Knight fan base,” said Bruce Feniger, general manager for Pamal Broadcasting Hudson Valley.  “Our goal is to provide excellent Army coverage for fans, and we look forward to getting started next season.”
