WEST POINT, N.Y.  - Fresh off of his first two career shutouts, Army goalie Rob Tadazak has been named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, it was announced Monday. Also on Monday, freshman Willie Faust was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Travel Team USA Rookie of the Week.

Tadazak went 2-1 in his last three starts with two shutouts and 71 saves as the Black Knights improved to 7-9-2 overall and moved into second place in the Atlantic Hockey Association with a 7-4-2 mark.

Tadazak made 25 saves to help Army beat Canisius, 1-0 in overtime on Dec. 30. The victory was Army's first overtime win since Jan. 7, 2006 when the Black Knights topped Mercyhurst 3-2 and Army's first road overtime win since edging Iona, 6-5, on Feb. 22, 2002. It is the first time Army has beaten an opponent 1-0 in overtime.

In his next game, Tadazak was credited with 22 stops in Army's 5-0 victory over #19 Robert Morris, the first time Army has had back-to-back shutouts since Feb. 15-16, 2008. It also marked Army's first win against a ranked opponent since a 3-2 victory over #2 Miami on Jan 3. 2009.

A sophomore from Lapeer, Mich., Tadazak is the second hockey player to earn AAA accolades following Andy Starczewski's nod on Oct. 22.

Faust collected his second weekly rookie honor from the league after posting his first career two-goal game as Army posted a 5-0 win over #19 Robert Morris.

Faust scored once in the second period and once in the final session to help the Black Knights win their second consecutive game.

Faust shred the Rookie of the Week honors with Connecticut's Shawn Pauly. The league also announced that Daniel O'Donoghue of Mercyhurst was the Travel Team USA Player of the Week and Connecticut's Garrett Bartus was the Travel Team YSA Goalie of the Week.

Army will play at service academy rival Air Force this weekend. Games Friday and Saturday are set for the Cadet Ice Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo. Friday's game will be at 9:05 p.m. Eastern while Saturday's contest will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network at 6:05 p.m. Eastern.
