PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris scored a pair of goals over the final 2:01 to break a 4-4 tie and escape with a 6-4 victory over Army in the second game of an Atlantic Hockey Association weekend series at 84 Lumber Arena. The Black Knights came storming back from a 3-0 first-period deficit with two goals in each of the final two frames but could not hold off the Colonials, whose final goal came on an empty net, in the final minutes.

Army sophomore forward Joe Kozlak and freshman Clint Carlisle each tallied a goal and an assist on the night, while senior Brian Schultz and junior Josh Richards also scored goals for the Black Knights. Freshman goaltender Parker Gahagen played the final 44 minutes and finished with 36 saves. Twenty-one of Gahagen's saves came during an impressive third-period effort.

Robert Morris held a 42-37 advantage in shots on goal and won 40-of-75 face-offs. Five different Colonials found the back of the net.

Army went 1-of-3 on the power play, while Robert Morris was 1-of-5.

The Colonials jumped all over Army in the early going, scoring just 2:15 into the game as Colin South netted his fourth goal of the season. Jeff Jones scored twice before the end of the period, including a power play score, to give the Colonials a 3-0 cushion at the first intermission.

Gahagen, who relieved starter Tanner Creel late in the first, remained between the pipes to start the second period as Army looked to turn the tide. The Black Knights showed life early, scoring the first of two second-period goals just 4:22 into the frame. Kozlak's fourth goal of the year came on the power play and off assists from Carlisle and sophomore defenseman Christian Pomarico.

Kozlak later fed Schultz for Army's second goal of the game at the 11:11 mark. The Black Knights' captain registered his second goal of the year, Kozlak his fourth multiple-point game of the season and rookie defenseman Garret Peterson his first official career point (assist). The 3-2 score lasted just over a minute, however, as the Colonials went back up by two 12:02 in and took a 4-2 lead into the break.

Neither team scored in the opening 10 minutes of the third period, but a pair of Army goals down the stretch kept the opportunistic Black Knights' comeback hopes alive. Carlisle's sixth goal of the year at 12:06 of the third pulled the road team back within one, 4-3. Sophomore Willie Faust and fellow rookie C.J. Reuschlein added assists on the play. Just 3:32 later, Richards beat Robert Morris goaltender Terry Shafer with the equalizer as the scoreboard read 4-4 with 4:22 remaining.

Robert Morris retaliated quickly with the go-ahead score at 17:59 and took the wind out of Army's sails with an empty-netter at 19:00 to seal the Colonials' fifth-straight victory.

The Black Knights close out a six-game road swing next Friday, Feb. 7, at American International in the first game of a home-and-home weekend series.
