WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army's No. 11-ranked gymnastics team will put the finishing touches on its dual meet season Saturday at MIT in closing out a four-meet road slate.
The Black Knights (10-1), who are in the midst of a 10-match win streak, have already clinched their second-best season under head coach Doug Van Everen, who was recently presented with his 100th career win.
Army holds a commanding 21-2 lead in the series with MIT, with the two losses against the Engineers coming during the early part of the series. Army has won the last 17 matches after suffering its last loss over 70 years ago when it fell 35-19 in 1931.
Over half of the members on Army's roster are ranked in the Top 25 individually in their specialties in the latest GymInfo poll. Senior team captain and two-time NCAA still rings finalist Brian Lee has the highest ranking with his current showing of No. 3 in that event with a 9.808 average, trailing Ohio State's Randy Monahan who is first at 9.858.
