PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Though coming up short of crowning an ECAC (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference) champion, three Army gymnasts medaled in their specialties in the individual event finals Saturday afternoon at McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.

Senior Chase Brown turned in Army's highest finish of fifth place on floor exercise with a 14.4, which is just 0.1 shy of his season high, in recording the same score he posted in Friday's preliminary round. He moved up three spots after placing eighth the opening day. Brown trailed the winning mark of 14.75 recorded by medalist John Leonard of Temple, and he was just 0.1 behind fourth place finisher Landon Funiciello of William & Mary.

Jared Breeden and Nicholas Fettinger also improved upon their first day performances in placing sixth on still rings and parallel bars, respectively. Breeden turned in a 13.55 trailing UIC's David Ishida's mark of 13.65 for fifth place.

Fettinger recorded a 13.9 on parallel bars, improving upon the eighth-place finish and 13.8 mark he posted in Friday's opening round. He was nipped by William & Mary's JJ Jindra for fourth place by just 0.1.

Also competing were senior Jonathan Hoey on pommel horse, junior Ikaika Jakub, still rings, and freshman Jeremy Cahill, floor exercise.

"Everyone did an outstanding job with excellent routines today," said Army head coach Doug Van Everen. "I feel that based on the performance here, and throughout the season, that several members of the team will qualify individually for the NCAA Championships in two weeks. That list will be announced this coming week."
