WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army golf team will welcome nine competitors to the banks of the Hudson this weekend when it hosts the Stars & Stripes Invitational at the West Point Golf Course. The 54-hole event begins Sunday with the first two rounds and concludes Monday with the final 18 holes.
Army will compete against a number of Patriot League foes as well as team's from across the nation. Other teams scheduled to participate in this weekend's competition are Bethune Cookman, Bucknell, Columbia, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola, Pacific, and UC Santa Barbara.
Army is coming off a victory in the annual Star Match at Navy. The Black Knights now return to traditional tournament play for the remainder of their schedule.
Army is playing at home for the first time since last April's Last Chance Classic. The West Point Golf Course will also host the 2014 Patriot League Championship. For this event, the venue will play at 6,101 yards with a par 69 set up.
Following this weekend's action, Army has two tournaments left on its fall docket. The Black Knights will play at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn. And the Pacific Invitational at the Stockton Country Club in Stockton, Calif.
