CENTER VALLEY, Pa. Three Army golfers have been named to the Patriot League Honor Roll, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Rising senior James Raymond, rising sophomore Jaewon Lee and recent graduate Sam Walenz were all cited for excellence in the classroom and on the golf course.
The three Army golfers were among 33 recognized by the league. To be eligible, golfers must earn a varsity letter and post a minimum 3.2 grade-point average during the spring semester.
Raymond, from Fort Sam Houston, Texas, posted a 3.25 GPA in his Military Art and Science major and earned the honor for the third straight season. Raymond will serve as team captain for the 2009-10 season.
Lee, from San Leandro, Calif., posted a 3.5 GPA in his first year at West Point with an undeclared major.
Walenz, a two-year team captain and recently commissioned Second Lieutenant from Hutchinson, Kan., recorded a 3.466 in his final semester as an International and Comparative Legal Studies major. It was the third time he made the Honor Roll.
