CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -
Army freshman Peter Kim was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Month after finishing atop the leader board at the Patriot League Golf Championships last weekend at West Point Golf Course. Kim was the only golfer to shoot under par in the event, finishing with a 1-under par, 209 during the 54-hole tournament.
The Golfer of the Month honor marks the second of Kim's career.
Along with claiming the individual title at the Patriot League Championships, Kim earned the Patriot League Most Outstanding Golfer and Most Outstanding Rookie Awards, becoming the first player to draw both since the inception of the rookie award in 2005.
Kim also landed on the All-Patriot League First Team, where he was joined by teammates, sophomore Marcus Plunkett and freshman Justin Pagila. By virtue of his first-place performance in the tournament, Kim receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. He will learn his postseason fate in a selection show televised live on the Golf Channel on Monday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
