Army Through 36 Holes At Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Army golf team shaved three strokes off their opening-round score, carding a 15-over par 299 during Friday’s second round of the Pacific Invitational at the Stockton Country Club. The Black Knights enter Saturday’s final round in 12th place.

Brigham Young holds a commanding lead through 36 holes. The Cougars 22-under par is 16 shots clear of second place St. Mary’s.

Freshman Peter Kim continued to lead the Black Knights. Kim shot Army’s best round of the day, 1-over par 72, to finish Friday’s play tied for 38th at +4. Sophomore Eric Peng carded a 76 and enters tomorrow’s final round tied for 50th. Marcus Plunkett (+10, t-52nd), Justin Pagila (+11, 54th) and Robby Hill (+12, t-55th) rounded out Army’s lineup.

The Cougars’ Joe Parkinson has shot back-to-back 65s to lead the tournament at 12-under par. Teammate Justin Keiley is in second place at -7.

Army is scheduled to start the third round at 11:50 a.m. ET on Friday. The Black Knights will begin play on the back nine of the Stockton Country Club.
