STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Despite a late start due to frost that prevented the second round from being completed, the Army golf team is in the top-10 at the 36th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate.

Army is tied for ninth at the 7,202-yard, par-71 Blue Course at Penn State after shooting a 311.

George Mason leads the 14-team event after one complete round with a 301, a stroke in front of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and two better than Bowling Green. William & Mary, Connecticut and Penn State are tied for fourth. Kevin Yerks of George Mason shot the lone even-par round and is the individual leader by two strokes over four other golfers.

Frost in central Pennsylvania Saturday morning held up the start of the event and darkness prevented the second round from being completed. The tournament started more than two hours late while the frost burned off. All 14 teams finished the first round but the second round was halted as darkness fell. Sunday will feature the second of the second round and the final 18 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Anthony Kim is tied for 12th to pace the Black Knights with a five-over 76, one stroke better than Matt Philie. Brandon Baerwaldt and Robby Hill both shot 79s and are tied for 47th while William Park is tied for 58th after an 81.

Eric Park is competing as an individual at the tournament and is tied for 35th with an opening round 78.
