PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  - Army senior running back Raymond Maples is one of 77 players listed on the Maxwell Award Watch List it was announced today by the Maxwell Football Club.

The Maxwell Award, now in its 78th season, is presented to America's college football player of the Year since 1937.

Maples, who missed the majority of last season after an injury, has rushed for 2,612 yards in his career.  A senior from Philadelphia, Pa., Maples has started 36 games over his career with 539 rushing attempts and seven touchdowns.

The Maxwell Award is named in honor of Robert "Tiny" Maxwell. Maxwell contributed to collegiate football as a player, sports writer and official. Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron won the award last season.

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced Nov. 3, while the finalists will be unveiled Nov. 24. The winner of the Maxwell Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show held on Dec. 11, 2014. The formal presentations of these awards will be made at the Maxwell Football Club Awards Gala hosted by Revel Casino Hotel Atlantic City on March 6, 2015.

The watch list candidates have been chosen by the Maxwell Football Club's selection committee, which analyzes both past performance and future potential. The Club reserves the right to make additions and deletions to these lists as the 2014 season unfolds. All members of the Maxwell Football Club, NCAA sports information directors, FBS head coaches and selected national media are eligible to vote for the awards.

Army will open its 2014 season at historic Michie Stadium against Buffalo on Sept. 6, its first under head coach Jeff Monken.

Single-game and season tickets are now on sale. Army will welcome Buffalo, Ball State, Rice, Air Force and Fordham to historic Michie Stadium this year. The Black Knights will also play Connecticut at Yankee Stadium.

Single game tickets are available for just $32 for the Buffalo contest. The Rice game is priced at $35, while Ball State and Fordham tickets are $49. Air Force tickets start at $50. Tickets for the game at Yankee Stadium start at $30.

Season tickets are also available with prices beginning at $116 for the spirit zone. Sideline, end zone and upper level seats are available for just $187.

Three-game mini plans are also offered with prices ranging from $91-$113 depending on which games fans select.

Fans will also have the option to purchase parking in advance for $15. Parking is $20 on gameday.
