Sophomore QB Trent Steelman
(Ref.: Team's overall performance)
"It was a disappointing loss. It's disappointing that we didn't come out and play the way we should have or the way we've been practicing all week. It's just the little things that got us today, not keying on our assignments. That's huge when you run this offense because it's an 11-guy offense and when one guy doesn't do his assignment, the offense doesn't click the right way. At the same time, you have to take your hat off to Notre Dame and their defense today. They flew around and had a good game plan. At the same time, we have to really look at ourselves right now and see what we need to fix."
(Ref: First drive of the game in comparison to the rest of the game)
"Like I said, it was just one thing here and one thing there. It starts with me just being able to control the offense and go on what I see. I need to do a better job of just knowing what's going on and making smart decisions with the ball."
(Ref: Not going for it on 4th and three on the first drive)
"You have to take your points right there. It didn't come down to just that. We haven't been shutout all year and they did an outstanding job on defense. We just have to be able to run our offense and run the ball. That's what we do and it just wasn't there tonight. It was just one of those games. We have to move on."
Senior LB Steven Anderson
(Ref.: Playing in Yankee Stadium)
"It was a great atmosphere and something that really allowed us to be a part of something special. We talked about making history all week and winning the first game ever played in the new Yankee Stadium. It was something that was really something we wanted to do and let slip away."
(Ref.: Challenging day rushing the quarterback)
"I'm not sure how we did stat-wise, but they did a good job with our stunts and they picked it up. They were soft setting us a little bit. We had a couple blitzes get in there today, but they did a very good job protecting their quarterback."
Senior SB Pat Mealy
(Ref.: Outcome of the game)
"It's not the outcome we expected. We just didn't do the little things and weren't precise in this game at all. We will go back to the drawing board tomorrow and get it right for Navy two weeks from now."
(Ref.: Moving on from losses)
"Clearing is a big part of what we do. Bad things are going to happen, but it's all about how you respond to it. We're a good team and we're going to come out and just respond and bounce back. We'll learn from our mistakes this game and keep moving forward."
