Army lost its fourth straight game against the Owls, falling behind in the all-time series, 5-4.
The Black Knights have now lost nine straight games at Lincoln Financial Field. Army is 0-7 in the facility versus arch-rival Navy and 0-2 against Temple.
Army lost its seventh straight game away from West Point this season. The Black Knights are 0-6 on the road and 0-1 in neutral site contests. Four of Army’s road losses came versus Mid-American Conference teams (Northern Illinois, Ball State, Miami and Temple).
The 42-14 loss was the Black Knights’ 37th straight loss when allowing at least 40 points.
Army has lost 19 straight games when trailing after three quarters.
Freshman LB Michael Cermak made his first career start. He is the 11th plebe to start a game for the Black Knights this season.
Sophomore RB Raymond Maples ran for 93 yards to run his season total 984 yards. He needs only 16 yards versus Navy to post the 15th 1,000-yard season in Army history.
Freshman FB Larry Dixon’s 15-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter marked the fourth straight game in which Dixon has scored a touchdown.
Army ran for 340 yards, its ninth 300-yard game in its 11 outings.
After scoring at least 21 points in each of the first eight games, Army has scored a total of 40 points in its last three games. The Black Knights are now 8-80 since the start of 1996 when scoring less than 20 points.
Junior SB Brian Austin ran for a career-high 32 yards. His 26-yard run in the fourth quarter was also a career best.
Junior QB Trent Steelman started for the first time since the Vanderbilt game, but left the game after two plays with a right leg injury.
Freshman SB Stephen Fraser ran for a career-best 35 yards. Fraser has started the last two games.
Sophomore FS Thomas Holloway recorded his second straight double-digit tackle game with 11 stops. It was his third game of the season with at least 10 tackles.
Freshman LB Geoffery Bacon had his second career double-digit tackle game with 10 stops.
Freshman DE Colin Linkul recorded Army’s only sack of the game. Three of Linkul’s five tackles this season have been sacks.
Army did not force a turnover against the Owls, dropping to 2-12 in its last 14 games when not getting a takeaway.
