WEST POINT, N.Y. - Chad Bartoszek caught a touchdown pass and a 2-point conversion, and Marquis Dwarte ran for the winning score as Buffalo beat Army 26-19 on Saturday.

Army took over possession with a second left at the Buffalo 19 but a pass into the end zone sailed out of bounds.

Dwarte's 3-yard run with 9:12 left gave the Bulls a 24-19 lead and Bartoszek's subsequent 2-point conversion catch put Buffalo up by a touchdown.

Army had taken it's only lead of the game less than a minute into the final quarter when a 37-yard touchdown catch by Aris Comeaux put the Black Knights up 19-18.

Dallas Pelz kicked two field goals of 34 yards and one from both 50 and 32 yards for Buffalo (3-7) but missed an extra-point attempt in the first quarter that almost came back to hurt the Bulls.

Army backup quarterback Curtis Zervic came off the bench in the second half to replace injured starter Chad Jenkins and led the Black Knights (2-7) on three second-half scoring drives.

Zervic finished 16-of-23 for 186 yards and a touchdown but had a pass tipped and intercepted at the Buffalo 32 with 5:29 left to stop a possible game-tying drive by the Black Knights. He also had a pass intercepted with 43 seconds left in the game that sealed the victory for Buffalo.

Buffalo's Joe Freedy finished with 185 yards passing and threw a 22-yard touchdown to Bartoszek.

After a scoreless first half where the Black Knights were held scoreless, they came out and scored two touchdowns in the third quarter on a 31-yard run by Josh Holden and a 1-yard run by C.J. Young.

Excluding Army's final drive of the half, when the Black Knights got possession with 25 seconds left and the Bulls playing prevent defense, Buffalo outgained Army 244 yards to 79 yards.

The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 15 but was postponed due to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
