TEAM NOTES
• Army’s loss snapped their two-game winning streak against the Cardinals. The Black Knights now hold a 2-1 series lead versus Ball State. Saturday’s game marked Army’s first trip to Muncie, Ind.

• After winning six straight games on opponents’ home fields, the Black Knights have now lost two straight road games (at Northern Illinois).

• The loss dropped the Black Knights record versus Mid-American Conference teams to 8-10 since 2005.

• Army has been outscored 97-47 in its two road games. The Black Knights own a 41-37 scoring edge in its two home games.

• Army entered the game ranked No. 1 in the nation in time of possession, averaging better than 38 minutes per game, but held the ball on Saturday for only 28:48.

• Army has now lost 35 straight games when giving up 40-or-more points.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
• Junior QB Trent Steelman started his 29th straight game on Saturday. Steelman, who has been under center in every game of his Army career, is only one shy of Leamon Hall’s
Academy record of 30 consecutive starts from 1975-77.

• Steelman ran for 81 yards on 11 carries to move into 13th on the Army all-time rushing list with 1,810 yards.

• Senior Robert Kava made his first career start at right tackle.

• Freshman running back Terry Baggett made his collegiate debut. He had four carries for 36 yards and his first career touchdown.

• Sophomore wide receiver E.J. Tucker made his collegiate debut. Army has now had 32 players play for the first time in their careers this season.

• Sophomore SB Raymond Maples ran for a career-high 125 yards and a career-best two touchdowns. It was both his first 100-yard game and his first multi-touchdown game.

• Junior fullback Jared Hassin rushed 17 times for 111 yards. It marked his first 100-yard game of the season and his fifth in the past two years.

• Saturday was the first time Army had two 100-yard rushers in the same game since Hassin (118) and Steelman (102) did it versus Rutgers on Oct. 16, 2010.

• Army totaled 402 rushing yards, the fourth time this season the squad has gone over the 300-yard mark. The streak is the most since 1996 when the squad topped 300 yards in the first eight games.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Senior LB Steven Erzinger has started 29 consecutive games as Army’s “rover” linebacker. Erzinger is tied with QB Trent Steelman for the longest starting run on the team.

• Junior DT A.J. Mackey made a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss.

• Junior Brian Cobbs made his 2011 defensive debut. Cobbs played cornerback as a freshman in 2009 before being moved to running back last season. Cobbs made three tackles on Saturday.

• Army has now gone three straight games without forcing a turnover, and dropped to 3-14 under head coach Rich Ellerson when losing the turnover battle.
