TEAM
Ball State now leads the series with Army 3-2, including a 2-0 mark at Scheumann Stadium.
A block in the back penalty in the first quarter was the first infraction Army was whistled for this season.
For the first time this season, Army was charged with a fumble and committed its first turnover of the season.

OFFENSE
Army’s starting offense was the same as last week against Morgan State.
Raymond Maples has the most starts on offense with 25, including 16 consecutive.
Larry Dixon’s 71-yard scoring run in the first quarter was his career-long rush. His previous was 57 yards against Vanderbilt on Oct. 22, 2011.
Chevaughn Lawrence hauled in a pass for the 12th straight game with a second-quarter reception. It’s the longest streak since Jeremy Trimble’s stretch of 22 during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Larry Dixon topped the 100-yard rushing mark (113) for the sixth time in his career, moving into a tie for 12th all-time with Tommy Bell, Akili King and Willie McMillian.
Sophomore QB A.J. Schurr made his first appearance of the season. Schurr posted career highs with 41 rushing yards and a 31-yard run.
Junior Tony Giovannelli made his first career rush, gaining nine yards on the play.

DEFENSE    
Army’s made two changes in its starting defense. Jarrett Mackey at linebacker and Richard Glover at nose tackle made their first starts of the season. It was the 17th start of Mackey’s career and seventh of Glover’s.
Geoffery Bacon leads the defense with 19 starts, including 17 consecutive.
Army forced a turnover for the first time this season.
Bacon moved into 26th place on Army’s all-time tackles chart, passing Chuck D’Amico (1975-77). Bacon now has 212 stops.
Chris Carnegie recovered a third-quarter fumble, the first time in his career he has recovered a loose ball.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Alex Tardieu launched a 48-yard punt in the first quarter, his career long boot.
Tardieu punted five times against Ball State, establishing a career-high.
Daniel Grochowski was 2-for-2 on extra points. He has made all six of his PAT tries this season.
