ABOUT ARMY
The Black Knights set an Academy record for both three-pointers and three-point field goal attempts in the win over Bryant, knocking down 15-of-36 shots from long range. The previous record for makes was 14, accomplished twice last season, including in Army's game at Yale. The old attempts record was 35 set at LIU last season.

Sophomore G Josh Herbeck led the Black Knights with seven three-pointers in 16 attempts against Bryant. It was the Ann Arbor, Mich., native's first career 20-point game. Four of Herbeck's three-pointers came during a key stretch that bookended the end of the first half and the start of the second half. The Black Knights trailed by eight before Herbeck's buzzer-beater three to end first stanza. He then made three triples during a 12-6 run that gave Army a one-point lead less than four minutes into the second half. Herbeck became the 23rd player in Army history to make at least 50 three-pointers during their career.

The Army defense also came through in the clutch, holding Bryant scoreless over the final four minutes, 27 seconds. The Bulldogs tied the game at 65-65, but did not find the bottom of the net for the remainder of the contest.

Army is trying to win back-to-back games for the first time since last January when they defeated Dartmouth in its final non-conference tune-up and upended Colgate in its Patriot League opener.

Junior F Ella Ellis is Army's top scorer at 16.6 points per game. Ellis has scored in double figures in all five games this season and is riding a seven-game streak dating back to last season. The Houston native is averaging only 25.6 minutes per game. Of the five Patriot League players with higher scoring averages, the next smallest minutes played average is 28.8, and three of the five are averaging at least 30 minutes per game. Ellis is averaging 25.9 points per 40 minutes. Even a 30-minutes per game average would raise his scoring average to 19.4 points per game, which would rank third in the league.
