TIP-OFF TIDBITS
► Army is back on the road Wednesday night at Holy Cross. The Black Knights are coming off a 77-64 home win over American, and are in search of back-to-back Patriot League wins for the first time this season.
► While relying on freshmen for more than half of its scoring all season, Army started a quintet of rookies for the first time in the victory over American. The group accounted for 56 of the Black Knights’ 77 points and three of them scored in double figures. Kyle Wilson made his first career start and scored a team-high 20 points. Kyle Toth added 12 points on four three-pointers and Larry Toomey contributed 10 markers.
► For the season, Army’s plebes have scored 54.8 percent of its points, grabbed 54.3 percent of its rebounds, handed out 62.6 percent of its assists and made 60.2 percent of its steals. Nine rookies are averaging at least 9.0 minutes per game, and six of them have started at least one game. Army has started at least two freshmen in every game and at least three rookies in the last 14 outings.
► Wilson was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday — his fourth such certificate of the season. He is the first Army player since J.P. Spatola in 2000-01 to win four rookie awards. He is the highest-scoring rookie in the Patriot League at 12.5 points per game, and is the first Army freshman to score at least 20 points in consecutive games since Mark Lueking in 1992-93. Wilson is only the 12th Army freshman to score at least 250 points in a season, and is the highest-scoring plebe sine George Tatum in 1995-96 (278).
► Freshman Dylan Cox has handed out a career-high eight assists in each of the last two games. In his last four outings, he has dished out 20 helpers without committing a turnover. He has jumped to fifth in the Patriot League with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.5. In Patriot League play, he leads the conference with a 4.4 assist-to-turnover mark. Cox also leads the Black Knights, and all Patriot League freshmen, in rebounding with 5.6 boards per contest.
► Senior Ella Ellis scored 12 points off the bench in the win over American. He is Army’s top scorer at 16.7 points per contest, and ranks ninth all-time at West Point with 1,369 career points.

A WIN OVER HOLY CROSS WOULD …
► Even Army’s Patriot League record at 3-3.
► Be the Black Knights’ third win in Worcester in the last six years, accounting for all but one of their wins at the Hart Center.
► Be Army’s first Patriot League road win of the season.
► Be Army’s second straight win and third in its last five games.
► Mark head coach Zach Spiker’s 47th win at West Point (46-63; fourth season).
