TIP-OFF TIDBITS
► After two straight home games, the Black Knights are back on the road to take on the Colgate Raiders. Army is trying to win its first Patriot League road game of the season (0-1).
►  The Black Knights have had some success in recent years in Hamilton. Despite a 3-19 road record against the Raiders since the inception of the Patriot League, Army has won its last two games at Cotterell Court, a first since 1971 and 1973. The last time the Black Knights won three straight games at Colgate was a five-game winning streak between the 1963-64 and 1972-73 seasons. All three of Army’s wins at Colgate during league play have come since 2004.
► Army is coming off a 59-50 home loss to arch-rival Navy. The Black Knights shot 31.3 percent for the game, including a 2-for-20 mark from three-point range (.100). Both field goal percentage rates were season lows.
► Plebe guard Dylan Cox posted his first career double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds against the Mids. Cox was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his efforts versus Navy and in the win over Lafayette. He averaged 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the two games. As Army’s primary ballhander, Cox did not commit a turnover in the two outings.
► The Black Knights are trying to fight their way out of an offensive slump. In the last five games, Army has scored more than 60 points just once — its 77-54 win versus Lafayette. Even with the recent scoring drought, the Black Knights still rank second in the Patriot League at 71.9 points per game. It is the Black Knights’ best offensive season since averaging 72.0 points per game in 2000-01. Army has already tied the program record with four games of at least 90 points.
► Senior forward Ella Ellis scored 15 points against Navy to become one of Army’s all-time top 10 scorers. Ellis has 1,352 points, just one basket shy of taking over ninth place and is less than 100 points from claiming the eighth spot. Ellis has led the Black Knights in scoring 14 times in 18 games and has reached double figures in 45 of Army’s last 48 games.
► The Black Knights’ have seven freshmen averaging at least 9.0 minutes per game. The Army plebes have accounted for 52.4 percent of the team’s points, 53.6 percent of its rebounds and 62.0 percent of its assists.

A WIN OVER COLGATE WOULD …
► Even Army’s Patriot League record at 2-2.
► Snap the Black Knights’ two-game road losing streak.
► Be Army’s third straight win against the Raiders.
► Be the Black Knights’ third straight victory at Cotterell Court.
► Mark head coach Zach Spiker’s 46th win at West Point (45-62; fourth season).

THE ARMY-COLGATE SERIES
► The Army-Colgate rivalry dates back to the 1904-05 season. The Raiders are the Black Knights’ second-most common opponent behind Navy (116 games). The two teams have split the 110 meetings, 55-55.
► The Black Knights have won four of the last five. Six of the last 12 games have been decided by four points or less and/or in overtime.
► Colgate has won 19 of the 22 meetings in Hamilton during Patriot League play.

ABOUT COLGATE
► Matt Langel is in his second season as the head coach at Colgate. Langel spent the previous five years as an assistant coach at Temple. He began his coaching career on the staff at Penn, his alma mater (Class of 2000).
► The Raiders are coming off a 60-45 loss at Lehigh last Saturday. Brandon James came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points. Much like Army, Colgate struggled from the field last time out, hitting 30.5 percent overall and 9.1 percent from deep (2-22).
► Colgate has lost its first three Patriot League games. The Raiders and Black Knights shared five non-league opponents. Both teams defeated Marist and Binghamton, while both lost to Columbia. The Black Knights defeated St. Francis (N.Y.) which beat the Raiders. The opposite holds true for Dartmouth.
► Murphy Burnatowski leads the team at 16.5 points per game. A transfer from Maine, he is in his first season with the Raiders. Burnatowski is tied for the team lead with 40 three-pointers. Pat Moore is also in double figures at 10.4 points per contest with 40 triples. Luke Roh is the Raiders’ top rebounder at 6.3 per contest.
