Schuyler Williamson Bio
|
Catcher Schuyler Williamson enters his junior season with Army with high expectations. Last season, Williamson enjoyed a “breakout” campaign in which he batted .299 with seven doubles, three triples, five home runs and 28 runs batted in. This season, he is co-captain of the Black Knights and is leading the team from behind the plate. Be sure to check back often as Williamson will share his thoughts about the team's progress and whatever else is on his mind throughout the 2004 season.

This weekend went well in a lot of ways. First off, I have to say thank you to all of the people that came to our game. For as long as I have played here I do not think there has been a louder crowd. That plays a lot toward the progression of the game, and can really put a team down when it is losing already. Secondly, we showed the ability to come back from a lot of adversity, coming from behind to win two games. This does a lot to increase our confidence. We have won six out of our last seven games and are starting to feel very confident. Last weekend showed that we can still win even if we don’t play our best all of the time. We do not want to make this a regular occurrence, though. We remember that consistency is what is going to make us successful.
We go into this weekend with a four-game set against Lafayette. They also went 3-1 this weekend and have presented themselves as contenders for first place. We would like to continue our success this week, and work to eliminate the mental mistakes we made this past weekend. Eliminating these mistakes is what is going to keep us consistent and eventually make us a championship team.
