CENTER VALLEY, Pa.  – Army senior catcher Connor Love and junior outfielder Daniel Cortes were named to the Patriot League Baseball Academic All-Patriot League Team, it was announced Wednesday.

Twelve players were selected to the squad, after voting by league sports information directors.

To be eligible for the team, players must be significant contributors with at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average.

Cortes, who has played right field and left field for the regular-season champion Black Knights, leads the team in hitting with a .323 average. An Economics major with a 3.519 GPA from Altamonte Springs, Fla., Cortes has scored 18 runs, collected 40 hits and knocked in 18 runs in 37 games.

Love, a senior catcher, has played in 24 games behind the plate. He is batting .222 with 14 hits and six runs scored. A Management major with a 3.857, GPA, Love is a native of Beaverton, Ore.

Cortes and Love helped Army win a share of the Patriot League regular season championship and a number two seed in the Patriot League playoffs.

Army will host Lehigh in a best-of-three series beginning Saturday, May 10, at noon at Doubleday Field at Johnson Stadium.

Army posted s 15-5 mark in league games in 2014 and is 32-16.
