WEST POINT, N.Y. - Shane Siebler went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, and Ryan Kresky finished 3-for-4 with one run scored as Fairleigh Dickinson rallied for a 6-4 victory over Army in a non-league baseball game on a cloudy and cool Wednesday afternoon at Doubleday Field.

Cody Murtle went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in and one run scored to pace Army (24-9) offensively. The senior outfielder blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning to stake the Black Knights to an early 3-0 advantage. Zach Price turned in a 2-for-4 day at the plate to help spark Army's five-hit attack.

Army engineered a two-out rally to score three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kevin McKague reached on a fielder's choice and Mark McCants walked in front of Murtle, who hammered a three-run shot down the left field line.

Fairleigh Dickinson (15-14-1) responded in the top of the second as the bottom of the Knights' pushed across three runs against Army starter Erik Washburn. Mike Eliasen drew a walk leading off the inning and Riley Moonan singled with one out to put runners on first and second. Siebler followed by smacking a fly ball over the fence in left field for his first home run of the season, tying the score at 3-3.

FDU moved in front for the first time in the top of the third inning, scoring one run on two hits to build a 4-3 advantage. Mike Hewson singled with two outs and he motored all the way around from first base on Moonan's RBI triple to deep right center field.

Army scratched out a run in the bottom of the fourth to even the score at 4-4. Alex Jensen was hit by a pitch leading off the inning, moved to second base on Matthew Carter's groundout and scored on Price's base hit to center field.

Fairleigh Dickinson plated what proved to be the game-winning run in the seventh inning off Black Knight reliever Taylor Goucher (1-1). Kresky began the uprising with a single to left center field. He moved to second base on Eric Anderson's groundout and scored on Kyle Weeks' base hit up the middle.

The Knights added an insurance run in the eighth to push their cushion to 6-4. Jordan Ritz reached on a fielder's choice with one out, moved to second base when Kresky walked and came around when Army reliever Manny Fernandez threw consecutive wild pitches.

Anthony Calise (2-1) pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win for Fairleigh Dickinson. Eric Snyder worked the ninth to pick up his seventh save of the season.

Army will continue its 10-game homestand this weekend (April 14-15) when the Black Knights host Patriot League rival Lafayette in a four-game series at Doubleday Field.
