After two scoreless frames, Siena grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on Citro's RBI single. Allen walked with one out, stole second base and advanced to third on Tyler Martis' ground out. Citro then singled up the middle to plate Allen with the game's first run.
Army tied the score in the bottom of the third as the Black Knights pushed across one run on three hits. Johnson ignited with rally with a single to centerfield. Grant Van Orden followed with a base hit, and both runners moved up a base on Jon Crucitti's sacrifice bunt. Two batters later, Jensen singled through the right side of the infield to score Johnson with the game-tying run.
Siena moved back in front in the fourth inning on Allen's two-run single. Larry Balkwill and Fay walked, and Garcia singled to left field to load the bases for Allen, who delivered a base hit to left field to give the Saints a 3-1 advantage.
Following two more scoreless innings, the Saints blew the game open in the seventh, scoring six runs on six hits to establish a comfortable 9-1 cushion. Garcia's two-run single highlighted the uprising. Siena extended its lead to 10-1 in the eighth courtesy of Fay's RBI double.
Army got one run back in the bottom of the eighth inning on Jensen's run-scoring single. Crucitti led off the inning with a single, moved to second base when Daniel Cortes walked and scored on Jensen's base hit up the middle, trimming Siena's lead to 10-2.
