CENTER VALLEY, Pa.  – Seniors Kyler Martin and Nick Snoad became the fifth Army duo in conference history to capture two of the men’s Patriot League Track and Field Weekly awards in the same week as announced by the league office on Monday. Martin was tabbed the Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week while Snoad was named Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and second in his career.

Martin becomes Army’s first back-to-back Track Athlete of the Week since All-American Domonick Sylve was recognized on three consecutive ballots April 13-27. Like Sylve, Martin earned the honor due to his performance in the hurdles. The Vacaville, Calif., native ran the third-fastest 110-meter hurdles time in program history at the Dick Shea Open on Saturday with his first-place finish of 14.24 seconds. The time ranks first in the Patriot League and third among all IC4A Championship qualifiers. Martin is also closing in on his first NCAA Regional invitation by ranking 25th among competitors in the East Region.

Martin also met IC4A standards in the 400-meter hurdles with his runner-up finish of 53.62 seconds.

Snoad, the reigning Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, recorded the best distance in the hammer throw since Gerald Ingalls established an Academy record in 1996. Snoad won the event with a toss of 62.80 meters to rank second all-time at West Point. In addition to recording the best distance in the Patriot League this season, he is the only thrower in the conference to eclipse 60 meters and currently stands at No. 3 among all hammer throwers in the NCAA East Region.

Snoad was last named Field Athlete of the Week on April 3, 2012.

Martin and Snoad are the first Army pair of athletes to bring home two of the Patriot League weekly outdoor awards in the same week since Sylve and Tom Wagner did so on April 11, 2011. Other Black Knight pairs to be recognized include Jon Anderson (T) and Trent Kraychir (F) on April 28, 2009, Philip Sakala (T) and Brandon Woerth (F) on May 2, 2005, and Sakala and Caleb Wells (F) on April 5, 2005.
