CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -
After sweeping both diving events in the Black Knights' dominant 172-123 victory at Massachusetts last Friday, Army senior Chris Nguyen was named Patriot League Male Diver of the Week on Monday afternoon.
The fourth-year standout, who has now collected 11 Patriot League Diver of the Week certificates during his stellar career, qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships off the one-meter board. The Cheshire, Conn., native piled up a season-high score (315.30) off the short board and outdistanced the field by more than 25 points.
A two-time Patriot League Diver of the Meet, Nguyen was just as impressive off the three-meter board, racking up 305.85 markers and winning by more than 35 points. He was one of four Black Knights to win a pair of individual events as Army cruised past the Minutemen to remain undefeated at 3-0.
The Army swimming and diving teams return to the friendly confines of Crandall Pool on Friday, Oct. 26, when the Black Knights host Connecticut. The non-league dual meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
