2012-13 Schedule (.pdf)
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army swimming and diving head coach Mickey Wenderrevealed the program's 2012-13 schedule on Thursday. The competitive slate, which features five home meets, is set to officially get under way the first weekend of October.
"Our 2012-13 schedule will provide a balanced and progressive array of challenging opportunities," said Wender. "We look forward to maintaining most of our traditional rivalries while adding some new teams to the mix. I feel that our schedule matches the athletes we currently have in the water. Ultimately, it will prepare us to be at our best when it matter the most - at the Patriot League Championships."
The Black Knights begin their season by hosting Boston College and Rowan, along with the Vermont women on Oct. 5. After a road date at Massachusetts (Oct. 20), Army returns to the friendly confines of Crandall Pool to entertain Connecticut on Oct. 26.
Army begins the month of November by welcoming Buffalo to West Point on Nov. 10. The Black Knights continue their homestand by hosting the Columbia men and the C.W. Post women on Nov. 17. That same weekend (Nov. 16-18), the Army divers travel to Piscataway, N.J., to compete at Rutgers' Galbraith Diving Invitational.
Both teams then travel to Providence, R.I., to participate in the Brown Big Bear Open over the weekend of Nov. 30-Dec. 2. That championship-style meet will serve as Army's final tune-up before traveling to Annapolis, Md., to battle arch-rival Navy on Dec. 6.
After taking nearly a month off from competition for exams and the holidays, Army will ring in 2013 with its annual training trip to Puerto Rico and the San Juan Invitational on Jan. 3. The Black Knights continue a very busy January with a road trip to Pennsylvania to face Patriot League rivals Lehigh (Jan. 11) and Bucknell (Jan. 12).
They continue their road swing the following weekend with meets at Delaware (Jan. 18) and American/George Mason (Jan. 19). Army wraps up its dual meet slate on Jan. 26, when the Black Knights host conference foes Colgate and Lafayette in a tri-meet at West Point.
Army will then take part in the Bucknell Invitational on Feb. 2, before returning to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Patriot League Championships (Feb. 21-23).
