WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army swimming and diving head coach Mickey Wender unveiled the program's 2013-14 schedule on Tuesday. The competitive slate, which features four home meets, is set to officially get under way the first weekend of October.

"We couldn't be more excited about the 2013-14 season," said Wender. "Our schedule is balanced, competitive and progressive. It will do a great job of preparing our athletes to be at their best when it matters the most. We've included a good mix of traditional rivals and new challenges that will help us develop throughout the season. We are especially excited about adding Boston University to the schedule as we welcome them into the Patriot League this year.

"The Army Swim/Dive family is extremely grateful for the on-going support," added Wender. "No matter where we go, our fans come out in force. As 'America's Team' we feel like the home team wherever we go!"

The Black Knights open the season by hosting Boston University and the Vermont women on Oct. 4. Army then welcomes Massachusetts to Crandall Pool on Oct. 19, before traveling to face Connecticut on Oct. 26.

The Army men will battle Columbia on Nov. 17, and both teams will make the short trek to Piscataway, N.J., to compete at the Frank Elm Invitational the following weekend (Nov. 22-24). The Frank Elm Invitational, which will be hosted by Rutgers, serves as Army's final tune-up prior to heading to Annapolis, Md., to take on Navy (Dec. 12).

After taking nearly a month off from competition for exams and the holidays, Army will ring in 2014 with its annual training trip to Puerto Rico and the Copa Coqui on Jan. 3. The Black Knights continue a busy January slate by hosting Patriot League rivals Lehigh (Jan. 10) and Bucknell (Jan. 11).

Army then hits the road to meet Colgate and Lafayette (Jan. 18), before wrapping up its dual meet slate against American, Boston University and George Mason (Jan. 25).

The Black Knights will then take part in the Navy Invitational on Feb. 1, before returning to Annapolis, Md., for the Patriot League Championships (Feb. 19-22).
