Calvin Places Third In Air Rifle At NJOSC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Army sophomore Richard Calvin earned the bronze in the Men's 10m Air Rifle final at the 2012 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships held at the Olympic Training Center over the weekend.

Calvin entered the final in fifth place in the competition with an 1172 (588 and 584). The two-year member of Army's rifle team overtook two others shooters firing the highest final of 102.5 to win the bronze medal by 5.4 points.

Tyler Rico posted an 1178 and Garret Spurgeon followed with an 1176 match points to rank first and second in the competition. Ricco fired 101.7 points to finish 1.5 ahead of Spurgeon to win the gold medal in the finals.
