Class of 1965
Jose Gonzalez was a three-time All-America selection as a member of Army's men's soccer team.
One of three Black Knight soccer players to be named an All-American, he was a second-team choice in both 1962 and 1963 and an honorable mention selection in 1964. He recorded five goals and seven assists during his junior season.
During his three years with the Black Knights, Gonzalez helped Army to a pair of NCAA Final Four appearances and a 28-7-2 mark.
Gonzalez helped the Black Knights to a 12-1-0 mark in 1963 with the lone loss coming in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Black Knights set a school single-season mark for victories (12) and goals (47) that year, along with tying the single-game mark of 10 goals in a 10-1 win over Rider. Army later tallied 11 goals against Rutgers during Gonzalez's senior season, which broke the previous single-game standard.
Army's 12 single-season wins and 11 single-game goals remain one shy of the current Academy record.
