Garrett Munro Named Army A Club Director

Assistant Athletic Director Joins Army From Miami (Ohio)

Garrett Munro was named an assistant athletic director and director of the Army A Club in June 2013. Munro made his way to West Point from Miami University (Ohio).

At Army, Munro will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Army A Club, including management of all administrative and business functions related to staff, budget, tickets, parking and special projects, while also overseeing the department's "Friends Of" fundraising program.

In his role as the assistant director of development at Miami (Ohio), Munro oversaw all aspects of the Red and White Club annual scholarship fund for nearly three years. The fund realized a 17 percent increase in dollars raised during his tenure. He was also responsible for design, planning and communication of a new donor based seating model for ice hockey that is projected to generate more than $100,000 in new revenue annually. In addition, Munro served the RedHawks in a major gifts capacity.

Prior to his time in Oxford, Ohio, Munro spent a year and a half serving in various capacities at Ohio University. Among his roles were assistant director of development where he managed the Bobcat Representative Program and premium seating for football and men's basketball games. He also assisted with all aspects of the Ohio Bobcat Club annual fund.

Munro, who previously spent time interning with the Indiana University Varsity Club, graduated from nearby SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 2007. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University in 2010.
