Assistant Director/Army A Club
Fred Roland joined the Army A Club staff in March 2014 as an Assistant Director. Before joining Army Athletics, he served as the Iron Dukes Varsity Club Assistant at Duke University. His primary role was to help maintain a database of 10,000+ donors and prospects. More specifically, Roland worked with Duke coaches for 26 varsity sports to draft and distribute solicitation materials and host fundraising events for current student-athlete parents along with former Duke student-athletes.
Prior to working at Duke, Roland served as a Ticket Supervisor and Group Sales Specialist for the Durham Performing Arts Center from August 2009 until August 2011. He also worked as the Graduate Assistant for Academic Affairs in Athletics at North Carolina Central University from August 2011 until May 2012.
Roland was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for Duke's football team. While a member of the Blue Devils, Roland played in 46 career games with 35 career starts, started the final 23 games of his career, and recorded over 800 snaps in 2006 and 2008. Roland was also a co-recipient of Duke's Most Improved Offensive Player honor following the 2006 season.
