Gross Center

Gross Center

One of the jewels of Army's "Margin of Excellence" athletic facilities enhancement project, the state-of-the-art Gross Center was officially opened Feb. 14, 2002, prior to a triangular gymnastics meet with Air Force and James Madison.

In addition to serving as the permanent home of Army's nationally ranked men's gymnastics team, the Gross Center directly benefits both the men's and women's basketball teams, giving them a top-notch practice facility that compliments the Holleder Center.

Made possible by the generous contributions of lead donor Herb Lichtenberg '55, the 23,000-square-foot facility is named in honor of Lou Gross '54, a valuable friend and supporter of Army Athletics.

The Gross Center is located adjacent to the Lichtenberg Tennis Center off Stony Lonesome Road, just west of Michie Stadium and the Holleder Center. Construction was done by Indoor Courts of America of Olathe, Kan., the same company that erected the award-winning Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
